THE SPIRITUAL/FIGHTING RELATIONSHIP
So, over the past year, I have found myself on my own Spiritual Journey. This has involved a couple of retreats in Amsterdam, but mainly it has been about my own inner work through various meditations, yoga, Himalayan salt baths and a lot of soul searching.

This journey has led me to quit my well-paid job in the South of France, to come back home and find my own passion and life’s purpose. Some would say it was a stupid move to make, however everything happens for a reason.

After coming home, I soon began getting into Muay Thai. I have a previous background in boxing training, but that’s as far as my fighting went. One session of Muay Thai, however, and I was hooked(not physically, I made sure to keep my guard up). It is such an incredible sport, and I love the whole aspect of various different strikes and ways to knock out an opponent.

I am still a ‘newbie’ at Muay Thai, but with my love for Spirituality, it got me thinking.
What exactly is the relationship between Spirituality and Fighting?

This made me very curious. Could Spirituality give a fighter a psychological edge? How much of an influence is meditation? What type of rituals do fighters perform, both throughout their lives and before a fight? Do different Spiritual views come with different Fighting styles?

This curiosity is going to lead me to travel across the country, and eventually the world, visiting various different Fighting gyms, with various Fighting styles, and gather knowledge on whether Spirituality does play a role in not only their training, but their life.

And as much as this is a journey to gather information, it will also be an account of my personal growth with Spirituality, and as well Fighting styles. As the Spiritual Journey is a very powerful one, I hope to find ways in order to help influence individuals who seek their own improvements in life.

And obviously, also to pick up some bad-ass Fighting styles along the way
